Presentation

The castle opens its doors on the occasion of the first Sunday of the free month, this time under the sign of an exceptional year: the celebration of 400 years of the birth of Madame de Sévigné.

Famous writer, woman of wit and fine observer of her time, she was also the cousin of Roger de Bussy-Rabutin. Through this special day, the castle invites the inhabitants of the territory to (re)discover this unmissable figure of the Great Century, whose humor, sensitivity and modernity continue to speak to us today.

Throughout the visit, young and old alike can explore the castle and its permanent collections while discovering the close ties that unite Madame de Sévigné with the place and her illustrious cousin.

Thought as a moment of sharing and conviviality, this free opening is an invitation to push the door of the castle, to appropriate this local heritage and to celebrate together a major figure of French literary history.

A thematic visit (in French only) around this great letter writer and her famous cousin will be offered at 2:30 PM.

As a bonus, enjoy the last days of the enchanting exhibition "Le chant des Ondes" accessible for free.
