Presentation

Songs of Oblivionbrings together folk singer Lonny and Agamemnon, an ensemble of early music from the 17th century and more modern repertoires, with instruments from another time, touching in their originality and strangeness, to carry and dress this softly melancholy voice .alternately in English, French and Italian, the early works slide into covers of 20th century artists and compositions by the folk singer. With original arrangements by Laurent Jacquier, instruments and voice blur the lines between a frozen modernity and a dialogue between seventeenth-century-inspired improvisation and elaborate modern harmonies, while abandonment, oblivion and absence weave a thematic web between the meticulously chosen pieces throughout the concert.
