Programme

18th July :

7pm: Terrine

Claire Gapenne has been performing solo under the name Terrine since 2012. Radical and spontaneous, somewhere between no-techno and surgical noise, Terrine's music is lively and sharp, and smells of the Amiens scene. Moving uncompromisingly on all the crests of experimental electronic music, Terrine's music is published on a number of leading labels including No Lagos, Tanzprocesz, Bruit Direct and Third Type Tape. In 2018, she conducted the Orchestre Inharmonique de Nice and is currently working with artist-poet Amandine Testu on an art brut puppet theatre piece.

8.30pm: Païkan

ADJ and producer of retro-futuristic electronic music, Païkan creates danceable and imaginative tracks based on the soundtrack of a 1980s sci-fi film. Between long, haunting movements and visceral flights of fancy, Païkan creates mixes where Cosmic Disco, House and Italo Disco collide, with ecstasy and collective trance as the sole watchwords.

7pm : Couturier-Steinbach duo

Éric-Maria Couturier teaches at the Conservatory of Lyon and Paris. A polymorphous cello virtuoso, he performs regularly on the major international stages, as a soloist and chamber musician with the Talweg trio, with other artists such as Mauricio Pollini, Martha Argerich and Juliana Steinbach, and with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, which he joined in 2002. He has worked with leading conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Georg Solti, Carlo-Maria Giulini, Peter Eötvös, Susanna Mälkki, Jonathan Nott, Pierre Bleuse and Esa-Pekka Salonen.

Born in Brazil, Juliana Steinbach began her musical studies in France. After her first years of training at the Conservatory of Lyon (CRR) and with the American pianist Christine Paraschos, she went on to study at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSM) with Bruno Rigutto, Nicholas Angelich and Pierre-Laurent Aimard, where she won First Prizes in piano and chamber music. In 2002, she was unanimously admitted to the postgraduate piano cycle in Jacques Rouvier's class, winning the Alfred Reinhold Foundation Prize, a Blüthner grand piano. Juliana Steinbach was also a pupil of Franco Scala at the International Piano Academy in Imola (Italy), of Pnina Salzman in Tel Aviv (Israel) and of Maria João Pires at the Centre for the Arts in Belgais (Portugal). Juliana Steinbach's current musical projects include Saudades do Brasil, a programme combining the views of Darius Milhaud and Heitor Villa-Lobos on Brazil; Bach Dances, a choreographed performance of Johann Sebastian Bach's six keyboard Partitas; Beethoven Odyssey, an exploration of the piano, chamber and concerto works of Ludwig van Beethoven; and the complete piano concertos of Béla Bartók and Maurice Ravel.

8.30pm: Calling Marian

10.30pm: Canblaster

An album in three chapters, LIBEROSIS is the provisional culmination of Canblaster's quest, a meditative epic of 18 tracks mixed by Steve Dub - famous for having been the sound engineer for his role models, the Chemical Brothers. This record plays with the codes of pop as well as those of club, drum'n'bass, 2-step and dubstep music, hijacking their modes of narration and exposition, while questioning the question of the drop andobedience to machines.

11.45pm: Grimr

Grímr is a DJ and producer of electronic music who frees himself from the codes of new wave andEBM. Influenced by artists such as Moderat, Cabaret Nocturne and Schwefelgelb, his music combines the strength of New Wave, the warmth of EBM and the energy of Synthwave to produce slow, dark and melodic techno. Co-creator of the Dijon-based collective and label Bruit Marron, his EP 'Instincts' was released in July 2022 on the same label. After a series of dates across France, he returned to the studio to prepare the release of his second EP.
